Judged without the poles

Whatever the system cost, its most likely buyers would subtract the poles they didn't need and judge what was left. One reviewer said it for the page: ‘I carry trekking poles anyway so having a chair option is a no brainer.’

The option built to be passed over

A poles-free option went on the page for pole owners who would otherwise walk away — but we wanted it to feel incomplete without them.

ULTIMATE COMFORT
AND CONVENIENCE

Built with your comfort in mind.

TrekChair weighs 50% less than chairs of similar size.

It seamlessly transforms to fit into a backpack pocket.

What’s In A TrekChair?

An equation shown as cards: a lightweight, packable frame plus premium trek poles (or your own) equals TrekChair — stable seating.

*Patent Pending

Four feature icons: Lightweight — so light you'll forget you packed it; Easy Setup — 30-second assembly; Stable — supports up to 250 lb; Compact — fits in a water bottle backpack pocket.

BUILT SOUND AND STURDY

A premium carbon fiber frame and an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy base allows the TrekChair system to weigh 1.5 lb while supporting up to 250 lb.

Annotated full-body-support diagram: carbon fiber frame, ripstop nylon seat, breathable mesh panels, trekking pole hub, aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, solid rubber feet tips, 11-inch seat height. Pole detail: comfortable cork grip that absorbs vibration and sweat, premium carbon fiber shaft, three-part telescoping design with a sturdy flip-lock mechanism, collapsed length 24 inches.

A high back chair from thin air. Two explainer cards: trekking poles transform into TrekChair's carbon fiber frame; the 1.5 lb chair body rides in a backpack pocket. At no point during your hike will it ever feel like you're carrying a chair — but once you need one, it's magically there. So when you're ready for a break: remove the 1.5 lb chair body from your backpack pocket; watch the self-erecting aircraft-grade aluminum poles pop into position; insert the carbon fiber trekking poles into the rear hub and attach the seat cover. A hiker lounging in the assembled TrekChair — now relax, rejuvenate, and take in the views!

Sit Back and Relax(or take a nap!)

The headrest and adjustable trekking poles allow you to lean back and lounge. The low center of gravity adds stability while allowing you to easily prop up your legs.

Incredibly Compact

By using the trekking poles, we leave behind many pole sections used in traditional chairs. This results in a pack size that is 40% less volume, saving valuable space in your pack.

Trek Freely

Shed the extra weight with premium carbon fiber 7.8 oz TrekChair poles. And if you’d rather opt for your own poles, TrekChair makes that easy too.

What I wrote and why.

Rejecting the Compromise

Ultralight backpackers assume every ounce saved costs comfort. The title rejects that.

The system, in one clip

A pole that becomes a chair frame is hard to picture from a description. The clip shows both halves working as one system.

The weight claim

Comfort is hard to sell in the abstract, so I backed it with a figure a backpacker can weigh.

Answer 'What Is It?' Early

A pole-and-chair hybrid is confusing on sight, so the equation comes early: frame + poles = chair.

Skimmers leave with the whole story. The curious get the proof underneath.

Make the Physics Believable

A 1.5 lb chair rated to 250 lb sounds too good to be true, so I paused to name the materials.

Cork grip, carbon shaft, flip-lock: listed so a backpacker can compare them with the poles they own.

The Emotional Peak

The headline promises a magic trick; the section that follows performs it!

Sells the moment itself: gear you forgot you were carrying turns into a place to sit, exactly when you want it.

The poles make their own case

Premium carbon fiber, so pole-owning backpackers still see value in the bundle.

The founder’s résumé

I wrote the founder story around Jon Davis’s record: races run, trails completed.

The Smartwater Test

The Smartwater-bottle comparison answers the packability question with an object every hiker knows.
